The Office of the Language Commissioner (OLC), in cooperation with the company Trankos, organized trainings on translation software for translators at the central level

11.03.2019

The Office of the Language Commissioner (OLC), in cooperation with the company Trankos, organized trainings on translation software for translators at the central level. Group trainings for Albanian-Serbian-Albanian translators were held on Tuesday and Wednesday on March 5 and 6, at Trankos premises, in the form of a multi-hours presentation of functions and ways of using software.
In addition to group trainings, individual trainings in the Ministries are envisaged so that the translators can learn to fully control this software. To recall, during 2018, translation software was ordered and installed in 15 Ministries  for 25 translators,  in order to increase the efficiency of the translation and improve quality translation from Albanian to Serbian and vice versa. The installation process was performed by "Trankos Consulting", specialized in providing translation services and installing translation software.
The goal of the software is to make the translation process easier and shorter for the translators using it through the mechanism of translation memory, word formation and word prediction that are frequently used.

Office of the Language Commissioner was established in April 2012 under auspices of the Office of the Prime Minister, pursuant to Regulation br.07/2012. The Office is mandated to oversee the implementation of the law on languages, works with institutions to improve the implementation of the law and promote and protect the right on the use of the language of all communities in Kosovo
